Dedon defined the modern outdoor furniture category. Founded in Lüneburg, Germany in 1990 and produced by master weavers in Cebu, Philippines, the brand pioneered all-weather woven fiber as a structural material — collaborating with Richard Frinier, Philippe Starck, Patricia Urquiola, Sebastian Herkner and Edward Barber & Jay Osgerby on collections that treat the terrace as the equal of the living room. Via della Seta sources Dedon directly from the factory for villa, penthouse and hospitality projects in the United States, Europe and the Middle East — handling specification, freight, customs and white-glove installation under one contract.

Dedon outdoor furniture occupies a specific position in the luxury garden and patio market: hand-woven shells in a proprietary all-weather fiber, engineered to behave like a structural material rather than a decorative cover. The result is sculpted lounge chairs, daybeds, dining sets and hanging cocoons that withstand year-round US conditions — Atlantic salt air, Pacific UV, Rocky Mountain freeze-thaw — without the maintenance overhead of teak, the corrosion risk of steel or the brittleness of low-grade resin weave.
For US residential and hospitality projects this combination is the reason architects and interior designers specify Dedon over generic patio furniture: the silhouettes register as architecture rather than garden product, and the service life is closer to indoor furniture than to outdoor. Reference pieces — Mbrace, Tibbo, Caladio and the iconic Nestrest hanging lounger — recur across coastal residences in California and Florida, mountain homes in Aspen and Park City, urban penthouses in New York and Miami, and boutique resort projects nationwide.
Via della Seta sources every Dedon collection — Seashell, Tibbo, Caladio, MDear, Mu, Mbrace, Nestrest, SeaX and the rest — directly from the manufacturer in Cebu, Philippines. We coordinate the order with the rest of your FF&E specification, manage ocean or air freight, US customs clearance and white-glove delivery, and consolidate Dedon outdoor furniture into a single project shipment alongside kitchens, lighting, indoor furniture and smart home — under one contract and one timeline.
Mbrace, Tibbo, Seashell. Salt-air, chlorine and constant UV resistance with cushion fabrics rated for solution-dyed acrylic colour-fastness. Year-round outdoor exposure without seasonal storage.

Caladio, MDear, Mu. Freeze-thaw cycle tolerance for the woven shells; cushion programs are typically winterised on-site. Common in Aspen, Park City and Jackson Hole projects.
Mbrace, Nestrest, MDear. Statement silhouettes that read as architecture, with bespoke fabric programs available for boutique resort and clubhouse installations.

Wash with mild soap and water once or twice a season. No special coatings or sealants required. Use a soft brush for stubborn stains; avoid abrasive cleaners and high-pressure washers at close range.
Untreated teak weathers to a silver-grey patina, structurally identical to the original honey tone. If you prefer the warm colour, apply teak oil once or twice per year. The colour shift is purely aesthetic.
Solution-dyed acrylic resists UV fade and mould. Most collections have machine-washable covers. Store cushions during extended winters or use breathable covers — never seal in plastic, since trapped moisture is what destroys outdoor textiles.
Dedon was founded in Lüneburg, Germany in 1990 by Bobby Dekeyser and is produced on the island of Cebu in the Philippines, where the brand operates its own weaving facility. Design and engineering happen in Germany; the woven shells are hand-built in Cebu and assembled with teak, stainless steel or aluminum frames depending on the collection.
DEDON Fiber is engineered for full year-round outdoor exposure: UV, rain, salt air and broad temperature swings. With basic care — periodic washing with mild soap and water — the woven shells routinely deliver a decade or more of outdoor service. Teak elements weather to a silver-grey patina that does not affect structural integrity.
Yes. Via della Seta sources Dedon directly from the manufacturer for residential and hospitality projects across the United States — including coastal villas in Florida and California, mountain residences in Aspen, Park City and Jackson Hole, and resort projects nationwide. We handle specification, factory order, ocean or air freight, US customs clearance and white-glove delivery to site.
DEDON Fiber is the brand's proprietary all-weather synthetic fiber, developed in-house and extruded in Germany before being woven by hand in the Philippines. It is UV-stable, weatherproof and structurally engineered for outdoor furniture. EcoCycle Fiber is the more recent generation, made partly from recycled material and itself recyclable at end of life.
All current Dedon collections are rated for outdoor use. For direct salt-air or yacht installations the SeaX series is engineered specifically for marine conditions. For poolside and beachfront residences, Seashell, Mbrace, Tibbo and MDear are common specifications. Cushion fabrics are solution-dyed acrylic and resist chlorine and salt fade.
Kettal and Tribù lead with aluminum or teak frames and emphasise architectural geometry; Royal Botania is known for engineered teak and stainless detailing. Dedon is the reference for hand-woven all-weather fiber as a structural material — three-dimensional shells that injection-moulded outdoor furniture cannot replicate. Choosing between them is usually a question of aesthetic direction; we specify across all four brands within the same project where the brief calls for it.
Standard collections in stock finishes ship 6–10 weeks ex-factory. Custom finishes, bespoke fabrics and large hospitality orders run 14–22 weeks. For projects with a fixed install date we recommend confirming the spec list at least 5 months out so freight and customs clearance fit comfortably inside the schedule.
