The story
Via della Seta means "Silk Road" in Italian. It is a reference to the ancient trade routes that connected cultures through the exchange of materials, skill and beauty.
Founded by Chiara Borgoli, the studio was built on one idea: that the best Italian furniture should be accessible to designers and architects everywhere, without the friction of dealing with dozens of separate factories, languages and logistics chains.
We sit at the crossing point of Swiss precision and Italian craftsmanship. Our Zurich office handles project management, contracts and timelines. Our Italian network handles production, quality control and packaging. The result is a single, reliable channel from factory floor to your site.
Meet the founder
Chiara grew up between Milan and Zurich, surrounded by furniture workshops and design studios. She studied interior architecture and spent over a decade working with Italian manufacturers before founding Via della Seta.
Her role today is part curator, part project manager. She selects factories, negotiates pricing, oversees production schedules and ensures every item meets the specification before it leaves Italy. Clients work with her directly from the first call to final delivery.
Chiara speaks Italian, English and German fluently. She travels to Italian factories regularly to maintain quality standards and discover emerging workshops worth knowing about.
